Overview
Custom Double Bend Metal Stamping Sockets (Stainless Steel Clips / Shrapnel) are precision-engineered contact and retention components designed for electrical sockets, PCB terminals, battery contacts, and mechanical fastening applications. Manufactured via high-precision progressive die stamping and secondary forming, these double-bend clips deliver predictable spring force, low contact resistance, excellent fatigue life, and corrosion resistance for demanding automotive, telecom, consumer electronics, and industrial uses. We offer end-to-end OEM services — from DFM, tooling, and prototype runs to high-volume progressive stamping, surface finishing, and assembly.

Typical Manufacturing Process
- DFM & Tooling — part optimization for progressive die stamping; multi-station progressive die design.
- Blanking & Progressive Stamping — high-speed presses with automated feeders produce formed blanks with double-bend geometry.
- Secondary Forming — precision bending, coining, trimming and piercing operations to final profile.
- Stress Relief & Heat Treatment — where required for spring temper stabilization and fatigue improvement.
- Surface Treatment — pickling/passivation or plating (Sn/Ni/Ag) and optional electropolish.
- Cleaning & Drying — ultrasonic cleaning and controlled drying to remove processing residues.
- Testing & Packaging — electrical, mechanical and environmental tests followed by protective packing.
Surface Treatment Options
- Electro-Tin (Sn) Plating — solderable finish, good corrosion protection.
- Electro-Nickel (Ni) Plating — wear and oxidation resistance, underplate for gold/silver.
- Silver Plating — excellent conductivity for high-current contacts.
- Passivation (Nitric/Chromic) — stainless steel corrosion resistance enhancement.
- Electropolishing — smooth, low-friction surface for improved wear and cleanliness.
- PVD / Black Oxide — aesthetic and thin protective coatings for specific applications.
Quality Assurance & Testing
- 100% Visual Inspection on critical surface and forming defects.
- Dimensional Verification using ZEISS / Mitutoyo CMM and optical comparators.
- Mechanical Tests: spring force curve, insertion/extraction force, hardness and tensile tests.
- Electrical Tests: contact resistance and continuity testing per sample plan.
- Environmental Reliability: salt spray (ASTM B117), humidity, and thermal cycling as required.
- Fatigue Life Validation: cyclic actuation testing to customer-specified cycles.
